Bishop is a life long Livestock Guardian. He was surrendered and then transferred due to heartworm positive status and no room in the shelter. He is an excellent guardian of his territory but does not distinguish between human, animal, or noise related "threats". Bishop is misunderstood at times as being "aggressive" but he is simply doing his job. He is very gentle and submissive to his trusted people. He is very accepting of others into his "human pack" as long as he is properly introduced to them. Bishop craves human contact from those he knows are not a threat to him, his territory, or himself. He has shown a tendency to guard his pen gate and does not allow for intrusion if he is not sure the person/animal are not a threat to him or those he is protecting. He requires a strong fence, lots of kindness and positive reinforcement. Bishop is very dog friendly. He is a great dog, just needs a little work!
